Owners of 904 S. Main St., the site of a murder in December, have nearly reached an agreement with the City of Lima.
Owners of the building at 900-908 S. Main St., Victor Quintero and Gilbert Salaz, seemed to agree to a permanent injunction with the city, in court this morning. After numerous incidents, the owners were issued a temporary restraining order to not lease out the building. Today it was agreed to extend that order while a permanent injunction is drawn up by law director Tony Geiger. That would mean on a going forward basis the property could not be leased out, besides for the residents on the upper floors, and could only be used for business or retail-like purposes.
"They've been very cooperative," Geiger said. "I think its a situation where they were trying to generate some extra income for themselves and kind of lost control of what was going on. The one owner, in particular, indicated that he was relieved that this was taking place."
The temporary restraining order is in effect until February 2.
