The Lima Fire Department was called out to 919 Leland Avenue just after 3 p.m. on Thursday. Fire was seen coming from a first-floor window of one half of the duplex. The American Township Fire Department was called to help. It is unknown what started the fire, but there is reported damage on both the first and second floors. The Red Cross was called in to assist the person living in the duplex.

Initial calls indicated several individuals involved. The Lima Police Department, Allen County Sheriff's Department, and state troopers all called to the scene, with reports of shots fired as they were en route. Scanner traffic indicated homes were struck but there was no word of any injuries. Police would only confirm to our news crew on the scene that there were shots fired. We will have more information when it becomes available.
