Lima City Council had a full agenda Monday night, making decisions on two tax abatements and a study for a potential new water treatment plant.
Lima City Councilman Derry Glenn provided people with warm Thanksgiving meals for the 17th year. Lima Towers residents and others who attended were served a free Thanksgiving dinner. They also held a raffle to give people the chance to win prizes. Glenn says the smiles he sees is what makes this event so good, and everyone involved is always eager for this time of year to come again.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - For the 15th year, Lima City Councilman Derry Glenn made sure that people had a place to go for a proper Thanksgiving meal.
Lima 6th Ward City Councilman Dr. Derry Glenn hosted the 10th annual Thanksgiving dinner family celebration at the Lima Towers tonight.
The smell of turkey filled the community room as families lined up to get a plate of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Dr. Glenn said it is a great opportunity to spend some time with people who would otherwise not be able to go out to other community events.
With the November election less than a month away, one local organization continues its efforts to educate voters. Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership (LACNIP) is holding a 6th Ward City Council Candidate Forum on Tuesday. Questions will be asked of incumbent Derry Glenn and challenger Cleven Jones. Organizers are encouraging all Lima residents to attend so they can make an informed decision at the polls.
Residents at the Lima Towers extending a big thank you to those who serve and protect them. Members of the Lima fire and police departments being treated to lunch Friday for all they do for the Towers on a regular basis.
