Lima 6th Ward City Councilman Dr. Derry Glenn hosted the 10th annual Thanksgiving dinner family celebration at the Lima Towers tonight.
The smell of turkey filled the community room as families lined up to get a plate of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Dr. Glenn said it is a great opportunity to spend some time with people who would otherwise not be able to go out to other community events.
"We do this every year, these are great people that stay at Lima Towers, these are some of the folks that cannot get out and about, doesn’t have a lot of family members, so we give them joy," says Dr. Glenn. "Every year we come together, a good team of us get together, and bring food to them."
He also said he enjoys being able to give back and talk with people in his community over a hot dinner.
