If you have a new year’s resolution to get to the gym and workout more in 2023. The Lima YMCA is offering a chance on Saturday January 7th to check a variety of classes during their Fitness Fun Day. Members and non-members can come in from 8 to 11 am and take part in 30-minute sample classes like Zumba, Kettle Ball, and Yoga.
Michelle Webken from the Lima Family YMCA says, “We just want to celebrate kids being kids. And them being active and choosing healthy snacks and activities. Just an overall help the with their physical and mental health.”
The Lima Family YMCA is gearing up for its Valentine’s Father Daughter Dance this Saturday. Organizers say it’s a chance for dads to show their daughters how a man should treat a woman. There will be dancing, pictures, and refreshments for an unforgettable night of fun.
The Lima YMCA has joined with Children’s Hunger Alliance, a nonprofit from Columbus, to hand out meals that contain all 5 USDA creditable meal components. The Lima YMCA has been given 175 meals per week which have been distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The meals are available to anyone who is under the age of 18 years, all in the effort to give kids in the Lima area healthy meals.
