It has provided a chance for fathers and daughters to make lifelong memories for years.
The Lima Family YMCA is gearing up for its Valentine’s Father Daughter Dance this Saturday. Organizers say it’s a chance for dads to show their daughters how a man should treat a woman. There will be dancing, pictures, and refreshments for an unforgettable night of fun.
Michelle Webken with the YMCA adds, “Oh it’s so great. You should see the guys get so dressed up. The girls always have the beautiful dresses on. You can just see the sparkle in their eyes and they’re just laughing and having fun. And there’s not a lot of opportunities for just any parents and child to have that kind of one-on-one interaction and it’s just amazing to see. Otherwise, I don’ know if they would get that.”
The dance is this Saturday, February 5th, from 7 to 9 pm. It is free for Y-members and 6-dollars for non-members. They do have a mother and son dance in May.
