The run also includes a virtual pet contest and a mile fun run. The club sponsors K-Kids for elementary schools, Key Club for high schoolers, Circle-K at the college level, and the Aktion Club for individuals with developmental disabilities. All working to build future leaders.

Students from Elmwood participated in The Daily Mile, a program that encourages students to go out and run or walk a mile. Even 15 minutes of being active can make a big difference in a youth's life. A $10,000 donation was also made by INEOS to the school to help with their project of a track field area behind the school.
The Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park Districts campground opened today. It’s located at the Ottawa Metro Park on Ada Road near the Farm Park. It boasts 30 family campsites with 3 handicap accessible. They are on a first come first serve basis with self-registration. As the season gets underway there are plenty of family activities to take advantage of at the campground.
