A nationwide program made its way to Shawnee Elmwood Primary School to help promote positive health and wellbeing.
Students from Elmwood participated in The Daily Mile, a program that encourages students to go out and run or walk a mile. Even 15 minutes of being active can make a big difference in a youth's life.
"The overall goal today is just celebrating our students, they have been doing a mile every day since school has started, and this is a celebration and to end it," said Heather Kohli, an organizer of the run. "And to let them know that even though summer is coming that they can still go outside, for 15 minutes, and do their mile."
A $10,000 donation was also made by INEOS to the school to help with their project of a track field area behind the school.
