LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima councilman Derry Glenn presented a special award this Easter Sunday.
On Easter, Lima 6th ward city councilman Derry Glenn held a community recognition giveaway. He handed out different treat bags, as well as a special award. The special golden egg award included the establishment of a savings account to support a deserving youth's future. Glenn says that he wanted to spread a little more festive cheer for youth and to uplift their spirits.
"We continue working on our community together. All of us come together and work on it. Praising our God. Today is Easter and we need to continue doing this. We need to see all these people out here today coming to church every Sunday," says Derry Glenn.
He adds that it is important to bring youth together on Sundays in order for Lima’s community to thrive.
