DELPHOS, Ohio (WLIO) — Anna used a massive seventh inning to pull away from Jefferson in a 14-4 win in game one of a doubleheader.
The game was tightly contested early on, as both teams battled to a 4-4 tie heading into the later innings. In the fifth, Jefferson’s Audrey Violet delivered a stand-up double off the left-field wall, but the Lady Wildcats were unable to bring her home.
Anna took control in the seventh. Leading 6-4, Alayna Pouder ripped a base hit through the infield to drive in two runs and extend the Rockets’ lead.
Moments later, with the bases loaded, Eden Snow delivered the knockout blow. She launched a grand slam to right field — her first home run of the season — highlighting a nine-run inning for Anna.
The Rockets went on to secure the 14-4 victory. Game two of the doubleheader was suspended in the top of the first inning.
