MONTEZUMA, Ohio (AP) — A Celina woman was killed Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash near Montezuma, authorities said.
According to Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman, Jillian Geyer, 41, died in the crash, which occurred just before 10 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 219 and Hillside Court.
Deputies said Geyer was traveling north on State Route 219 when her vehicle went left of center, exited the west side of the roadway and struck a tree.
The crash remains under investigation.

Mercer County Sheriff Doug Timmerman reports that his office is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred yesterday evening, April 4th, 2026. Timmerman advised that Mercer County Central Dispatch received a call at 9:50 PM of a single vehicle crash that occurred on St Rte 219 at Hillside Ct in Franklin Township.
The investigation revealed that a maroon 2011 Mercury driven by Jillian Geyer (41) of Celina, Ohio was northbound on St Rte 219 when she traveled left of center and off the west side of the roadway for an unknown reason, striking a tree. Geyer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Montezuma Fire Department, Coldwater Squad 7, and Mercer County Coroner Dr Alyssa Tobe.
The crash remains under investigation at this time and will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review
