The Lima Fire Department responded to a house fire Wednesday morning. The call came in around 9 a.m. for a fire in the 600 block of North Elizabeth Street. No power had been at the house for a year and the property has been empty for some time. The Lima Fire Department also says that people have been squatting inside the home and that this is not the first fire that this property has seen.

Judge Terri Kohlrieser has returned a decision regarding 904 S. Main St. Kohlrieser's order states the premises located at 900 to 908 S. Main Street has been declared a nuisance. The owners, Victor Quintero and Gilbert Salaz, agree to the order and are prohibited to rent out the location for any public or private gatherings.

The City of Lima filed another nuisance action on a downtown bar on Wednesday.

Law Director Tony Geiger said the action was taken on "Levels" bar at 122 E. North St. for much the same reasons of 904 S. Main St. Geiger said the business, formerly known as "Beantown Saloon," has had many criminal disturbances and excessive police calls.
