January 14, 2025, Press Release from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources: COLUMBUS, Ohio – New playgrounds, splashpads, pickleball courts and more are coming to local parks around the state thanks to funding from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) NatureWorks grant program. The department approved more than $3.4 million for projects that improve outdoor recreational opportunities for Ohioans across the state.

If you love to play pickleball, you'll want to get signed up for the 2nd annual Allen County Pickleball Tournament. The tourney hosted by Habitat for Humanity and the Lima Firefighters IAFF Local 334 will be raising money for Habitat homes and the construction of a firehouse at Safety City. There will be 8 courts in play, with more than 120 participant spots open for women, men, and mixed doubles. This year there will be a beginner level and three age divisions for all levels of play.
