COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO)— Directors of the Putnam County YMCA met with the community today to discuss their plans for a new satellite branch.
The new branch is under construction in Columbus Grove, located in the old Union Bank building downtown. Leaders say this idea came after surveying residents across Putnam County, and Grove stood out as the clear choice.

“We canvassed the area with the questionnaire, and we found that among all of the communities, Grove had one of the highest number of memberships... so we decided that there was a place that was ideal for a satellite, here in Grove,” said Putnam County YMCA Executive Director Aaron Baumgartner.
The facility will have two floors, offering 24/7 gym access, weight and cardio machines, and upstairs space for classes like aerobics, cycling, and even pickleball. The build-out is already underway, with doors expected to open in August.
