Lima Senior High School Tri-M Music Honor Society students performed for residents at local retirement communities as part of a service project. The performances provided entertainment for seniors while giving students valuable real-world musical experience.
Jason Risner, executive director of Primrose, said the expo helps residents “age in place” by connecting them with care partners and resources. “Sometimes in order for that to happen, we have to get some care partners involved, and education and knowing about what’s available is so important to make that happen,” Risner said.
A local senior living program is giving residents a chance to connect directly with local government.
Primrose wrapped up National Nurses Week on Friday with a brunch to say thank you to their sixteen nurses on staff and five of their residents who are retired nurses. All nurses enjoyed trading stories about their time in the profession and how the industry has changed over the decades. Two of the retired nurses also brought in their vintage uniform caps to show everyone. The nursing profession is often taken for granted, so Primrose wanted to spend the week letting all of their nurses know they recognized their hard work.
Twin sisters were able to reconnect and see each other for the first time in several years with a little help from technology.
As the new school year approaches one local retirement community is asking the community to help stuff their bus.
The Primrose Retirement Community is offering older adults the chance to become better adjusted in their cars with a car check event.
