May 15, 2024, Press Release from the Allen County Family and Children First Council: Allen County Family & Children First Council announces The Healing Power of Empathy & Connection, a 3-hour trauma-informed training scheduled for Tues. May 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at The Ohio State University Lima campus. Mary Vicario, founder of Finding Hope Consulting, will share language and interventions that bring neurobiology to life for youth with trauma history or who are neurodivergent. A part of the Facilitating Healing, Resiliency and Hope Series, this session will provide a framework including three stages of positive trauma resolution and five resilience factors identified in those overcoming traumatic experiences.
This year crime victim services hosted its 2019 Empowerment Workshop. This is an event that organizers say will help community members become more resilient and gold.
“We live in a very diverse community where people have gone through different traumas throughout their lives and so we hope that coming together and kind of building a sense of solidarity with everyone,” said Brooke Law, Crime Victim Services sexual assault advocate.
