Seventh and eighth graders created an art piece that will be displayed in the building to showcase how recycling old parts can be used to create something beautiful. Students teamed up with instructors to break up and sort "old computer equipment" that can be used to create a visual representation of how recycling can go a long way.
The “Imagination Station” out of Toledo making a stop at Liberty Arts Magnet school this morning. Students from South Science and Technology Magnet School are also on hand to learn about “Structures.” The students getting the chance to build bridges that would hold weight and build structures that would withstand an earthquake among other activities.
Eighth-grade students at South Science and Technology Magnet School are filming a mockumentary on the late William Fowler. Fowler was an astrophysicist who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1983 for his work that shows how all the natural elements in the Periodic Table are forged under extreme conditions across the course of a star’s lifetime. Fowler grew up in the city of Lima and is an inspiration to future scientists from the area. The William Fowler mockumentary is a partnership between the Lima City Schools, the City of Lima, and Ohio State University at Lima. The film is expected to be completed by this winter, and a trailer being completed next month.
