Thursday was a day of thinking and building for dozens of Lima City School students.

The “Imagination Station” out of Toledo making a stop at Liberty Arts Magnet school Thursday morning. Students from South Science and Technology Magnet School are also on hand to learn about “Structures.” The students getting the chance to build bridges that would hold weight and build structures that would withstand an earthquake among other activities.

Kara Reichelderfer is in 5th grade and talks about what she was doing, “We’re basically just building a lot of things, and right now we were using toothpicks and marshmallows to make houses or other creations.”

5th Grader Zane Hall adds, “I’m learning about science. Right now, I’m working on these blueprints trying to build whatever I want to.”

Liberty Science and Math Teacher Jamie Duncan adds, “Our students get a chance to do some hands-on learning and apply the things they’ve done in the classroom. We’ve been learning about force and motion and today they’re building lots of things.”

Imagination Station will be back next Thursday for a “Workshop of Wheels.”
