June 6, 2024, Press Release from FEMA: COLUMBUS – Ohioans who applied for federal assistance may need to follow-up with FEMA and provide more information or documents to move their application forward. Those who still need help recovering after the March 14 tornadoes and haven’t yet applied, still have time to do so too. If you applied with FEMA and have insurance, you will need to submit the insurance settlement or denial letter to FEMA. By law, FEMA cannot duplicate benefits for losses covered by other sources. If your insurance settlement is delayed, speak to your insurance agent first. You may then contact the Ohio Department of Insurance at 800-686-1526 if you’re unable to resolve your concern. June 3, 2024, Press Release from FEMA: COLUMBUS – FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Ohio will have new hours of operation starting Tuesday, June 4. The three centers will now be open 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during weekdays and Saturdays. The centers in Auglaize and Delaware counties will follow updated hours until permanent closure through Saturday, June 8.
May 31, 2024, Press Release from FEMA: COLUMBUS – Just under a month since President Joe Biden declared a major disaster for the state of Ohio following the March 14, 2024, tornadoes, more than $3.7 million in federal assistance has been provided by FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to support disaster recovery.
The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest disaster loans for the people affected by the March 14th tornado outbreak. These loans are available to businesses and residents of the counties that were part of the Presidential Disaster Declaration that was made earlier this month. That includes Logan, Auglaize, Mercer, and Hancock counties in our area.
Lima business owners as well as aspiring owners attended a seminar to learn more about funding and resource options for their business. The Small Business Administration held the informational session in order to share the different types of ways that small businesses can be helped through financing and resources.
Citizens National Bank has been supporting local businesses through the paycheck protect program, or PPP. The bank announced on May 1st that 100% of PPP loans that have been requested by customers have been approved through the Small Business Administration.
The Small Business Administration is encouraging anyone that was affected by the severe weather in May to apply for assistance. It was announced Wednesday that help is still available not only for the 10 county area that includes Mercer and Auglaize counties from the Ohio Disaster Declaration but also for contiguous counties. In our area that includes Allen, Hardin, Logan, Shelby and Van Wert counties. Small businesses along with most private and non-profit organizations could be eligible for economic injury disaster loans.
The US Small Business Administration is offering loans to help out those that were affected by the flooding and tornado in Auglaize and Mercer counties. The center in Auglaize County is located in the basement of the Auglaize County Counil on Aging on Indiana Avenue.
