Former longtime fire chief of the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company, Paul Lee, passed away early Tuesday morning.

The Spencerville Fire Department and two other departments responded to a home fire late Monday morning. Just before noon, Spencerville Fire were called out to a home on N. Canal Street. They were able to put out a fire in the attic. The fire department says the woman who lives there had just left for work. The fire chief says they're leaning towards a hairdryer as the source of the fire, but they'll continue to investigate. No one was hurt and the chief says the home is most likely still liveable after a bit of clean up.

A driver falls asleep at the wheel causing her vehicle to flip into a field. Fire departments from Spencerville and Delphos responded to a single vehicle rollover with entrapment at the intersection of North Acadia and Delaney roads just before 10 a.m. Monday morning. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver was approaching the intersection when she fell asleep at the wheel.
A residential fire this morning has left a family without a home. The Spencerville Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 9455 Harris Rd. According to Spencerville's Fire Chief, Dave Evans, the home was already engulfed in flames upon arrival.
