For the second time in two days, the Lima Police are investigating a shots fired into a home call. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Lakewood Avenue around 9:25 p.m. Thursday for reports of shots being fired. They found a home was struck and they believe the suspect took off towards Spencerville Road.
At around 2:30 p.m., first responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a bus at the intersection of South Kemp Road and Spencerville Road in Amanda Township. According to the Shawnee Township Police Department, five people were transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s with no serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
Two people were sent to the hospital from a car crash in Shawnee Township early Tuesday evening. A red Chevy Aves LS was heading west on 117 when it struck a black Pontiac G6 turning left off Copus Road.
The car went off the north side of the road, flipping and coming to rest on its roof. Two other passengers, 18-year-old Chloe Greer and 19-year-old Aaron Caskey, both of Lima, were taken to St. Rita's with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a white male in his 20s, ran off. A K-9 search of the area turned up nothing. The car is not registered to anyone involved. Investigators believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
