Kelly and Jason from St. Gerard talk to us about their upcoming festival!
One of Lima’s largest and longest-running festivals is back for another year. The St. Gerard Festival, a local tradition for nearly 50 years, will kick off Friday evening, drawing crowds from across the region for a weekend of food, games, rides and music.
It's a sure sign of summer - the St. Gerard Festival is coming up! We get the details about the weekend event.
The St. Gerard Festival has been a tradition in Lima since 1979, and this weekend it will enter its 44th year. The Catholic community has prided itself on bringing together Lima for the annual festival, which includes live entertainment, rides and games, raffles, and what many regard as 'the best chicken in Lima'. The festival has had record years in fundraisers and attendance the last two years, but those numbers don't happen without the hard work and dedication of those who make the festival happen. Vendors, musicians, ride workers, and helpful volunteers are just some of the people who help operate the festival.
Saturday is day two of the St. Gerard Festival, and there was some friendly competition throughout Saturday. On Saturday afternoon, competitors were able to participate in two different tournaments of cornhole.
The St. Gerard Festival is back in full force and thousands came out to enjoy the live music, games, and food including their famous chicken wings. The festival also brought back the rides the kids enjoy. After scaling way back the last couple of years because of the pandemic, organizers are glad to see the Lima community having fun while supporting St. Gerard.
The Lima chapter of the NAACPÂ held a news conference today in light of an incident over the weekend at the St. Gerard Festival.
