LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Many locals don’t consider it summer until they’ve made a trip to the St. Gerard Festival, and organizers say this year’s event is once again bringing something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
With plenty of games and rides for kids, live music and entertainment, betting games for adults — and, of course, the festival’s famous wings — the weekend-long celebration has become a summer staple in Lima. The festival also serves a greater purpose: raising funds to support St. Gerard Parish and School while providing a way to give back to the community.

"When you come this weekend, it's, it's family affair. I mean, you come out, there's plenty of games, plenty of rides, plenty of food. It's, I mean, it's start of summer now. So yeah, let's get everybody come out and have a good time. The beautiful thing about the festival is, I mean, everything we raise is for our parish. It's here, it stays here, And we use these things to help keep the church going, you know, keep the school going," said Jason Davis, co-chair of the St. Gerard Festival.
The festival still has a full lineup of activities planned for the rest of the weekend, including a cornhole tournament and the $10,000 raffle drawing.
