The Lima Fire Department battled a fire at a duplex on the south side of the city earlier Saturday afternoon. Firefighters were called to 950 and 954 St. Johns Avenue at 5:45 pm Saturday afternoon. The fire was burning on both sides of an abandoned duplex apartment building.

It's been a busy week for area firefighters, another house going up in flames Thursday morning.
