It's been a busy week for area firefighters, another house going up in flames Thursday morning.
Around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, the Lima Fire Department was called out to 1315 St. Johns Avenue for a report of a house fire. When they arrived they say there was flames coming from the second story window and a portable oxygen tank exploded while they were fighting the fire. The fire caused heavy damage to the second floor of the home, and there was water damage through out.
The home owner was not living at the home at the time of the fire. Fire officials say the fire started in the attic and was likely electrical problem was the cause. The cost of damage is around $22,000.
