Montpelier rallies past Arlington to end Red Devils’ season in regional semifinal

BOWLING GREEN (WLIO) — Montpelier used a second-half surge to defeat Arlington 56-48 in a Division VII regional semifinal at the Stroh Center.
Arlington led 18-13 after the first quarter and held a 32-28 advantage at halftime behind scoring from Ayden Cavinee and Trenton Heacock. Calvin Willow also made an impact inside, finishing with a team-high 20 points.
Montpelier responded in the second half to take control late, despite Arlington pulling within striking distance in the final minutes. Willow added a late putback, but the Red Devils could not close the gap.
Arlington’s season ends with a 22-4 record.
