LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The man suspected of injuring a Lima police officer in a Halloween shootout is now back in Allen County.

Emerson Jeffrey, 35, was booked into the Allen County Jail on Friday morning, two weeks after police say he shot Lima police officer Bryce Metz during a traffic stop. Jeffrey is charged with felonious assault causing serious harm, a first-degree felony. His bond is set at $1 million.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. on Oct. 31 during a traffic stop on St. Johns Avenue, when Jeffrey allegedly fired a handgun at Metz, prompting the officer to return fire. Metz was released from St. Rita’s Medical Center on Nov. 3.

Jeffrey had been held at the Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. The city of Lima and the Lima Police Department have released both dashcam and bodycam footage from the incident.
