The course is focusing on how and why such works have been challenged or banned in the U.S. and England, their literary value, and how they reflect and influence civics and politics.
Lima Senior High sophomores get a chance to learn more about the 12 career tech plans that the school offers for juniors and seniors. They had the chance to move from station to station to talk with instructors and current students about the courses. The class offerings range from agriculture to audio engineering and culinary to construction trades.
Apollo Career Center's 4-1-1 Blast Day allowed students to choose two programs they were interested in and spent an hour with each learning more about the courses. They got to know the instructors and demonstrations like how to take a heartbeat or use robotics were given by current Apollo students. For many still unsure what they want to do with their future, it's helpful to hear the perspective of someone their age.
Ohioans who wish to learn what it takes to ride a motorcycle safely and responsibly can sign up online for rider courses beginning Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 9 am. The state’s motorcycle safety and education program, Motorcycle Ohio, trains about 11,000 students a year with courses beginning as early as March and running through mid-November. Education for riders is one of the keys to making our roadways safer for all drivers.

In an effort to decrease that statistic, the Bradfield Community Center is offering Mental Health First Aid classes. The course helps you to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among individuals. The training is free and open to anyone who would like to take it.
