SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - Students thinking about a career tech education get a hands-on introduction to the classes they might be taking.
Apollo Career Center's 4-1-1 Blast Day allowed students to choose two programs they were interested in and spent an hour with each learning more about the courses. They got to know the instructors and demonstrations like how to take a heartbeat or use robotics were given by current Apollo students. For many still unsure what they want to do with their future, it's helpful to hear the perspective of someone their age.
"They get to see the opportunities that students have, you know learning about the students that have the opportunity to go to work in their senior year or students that earn those college credits and can get ahead to advance after high school," said Jamie Buell, school counselor and admissions coordinator at Apollo Career Center.
The enrollment period to apply to Apollo for the next school year begins in February.
