Judge Jeffrey Reed and Terri Kohlrieser are warning the public that a recent scam call has been circulating around Allen County, where someone will call you, and state that you did not appear for jury duty our your subpoena, all in a threatening tone. The court wants to remind residents that jury summons will only be sent by mail, never by phone, and that an actual officer will arrive at their door if a real subpoena was ignored.

The victim's grandmother gave an impact statement to express how Rawlins had taken her granddaughter's body, mind and soul. “She was so looking forward to her future. She was excited to turn 18. She was very happy with her life and herself Jourdyn took all that away from her the day he decided to rape her.”

A man involved in a fight outside of J's Pub earlier this year was sentenced Monday at the Allen County Common Pleas Court. Tysheen Polk received a guilty verdict for 1 count of felonious assault to the second degree after beating Bradin Fischer-Jones in the parking lot of J's. Judge Terri Kohlrieser sentenced Polk to a 5 to 7.5 year prison term.

A jury was sat Monday afternoon and they heard from a former girlfriend of Boothe, who tipped off police to the incident. The defense tried to get a mistrial declared because of unrelated information to the case that came out during her testimony. Judge Terri Kohlrieser ruled against that. The trial will resume on Tuesday and is expected to go on until the middle of the week.

23-year-old Janicqua Bailey was sentenced on the charge of felonious assault, for an incident outside of J's Pub where she and three others beat and kicked Brandin Fisher-Jones and left him with serious injuries to his face and body. Bailey was set to be sentenced in September, but she slipped off her ankle monitor and went on the run before the hearing happened.

Judge Terri Kohlrieser held hearings for a couple of people that she issued bench warrants for on Friday after they didn't appear for their contempt of court hearings for not showing up for jury service. The judges are trying to curb a problem they have been seeing of people failing to appear for jury duty without showing just cause after they have been summoned.
