Lima, OH (WLIO) - The trial is moving forward for a Lima teen charged with two counts of rape. Lawyers for 19-year-old Jourdyn Rawlins filed motion with the court to have the two cases he is facing dismissed and to have the trial which is set for October moved to another county.Â
Judge Terri Kohlrieser ruled against dismissing the cases, and says they will wait and see if they can set a jury in Allen County, before she decides if the trial will be moved.
Rawlins was arrested in May 2021 on one count of rape after a victim says that she was spending time with Rawlins in his home when he allegedly forced himself on her. He was indicted again in November of 2021 for another alleged incident that happened in September of 2020 when he was 17-years-old.Â
