A Lima business giving of their time Thursday to help spruce up the city. The Basement Doctor coming out above ground to give some much-needed care to several corridors into the city. A half dozen employees and the boss were weeding, mulching, raking, and planting around two of the “Welcome to Lima” signs. Company officials asked where they could help with a project to give back and they went straight to work.

Whether it is full-on flooding or just damp walls, some homes in the area are seeing the effects of last night's heavy rain. Some properties that might have been affected by the rain in the past are water-free because of how their sump pump and drainage systems are designed. Even in older basements, a drainage network that captures water and redirects it before it gets into the foundation can prevent water from going anywhere it is not supposed to.
