OSU Lima held an opening of their new veterans' lounge located in Galvin Hall. The lounge was made with veterans in mind, to give them a space where they can unwind and relax and focus on their studies if being in crowded areas is too much for them. The project has been a long time coming and officials say that they wanted to create the room in order to continue to support veteran students on campus.
The Ohio State Lima campus is now offering its 4-year bachelor of science in engineering technology degree exclusively at the engineering and manufacturing center located at the Ford Lima Engine Plant's training center. The John D and Norma L Hubbell Family Scholarship will help the Ohio State University of Lima students that are looking for financial help in their goal of becoming future doctors, dentists, veterinarians, and other health-related professionals. The scholarship was established in 2022 by Susan L Hubbell and family members in order to address the need for financial help for medical students
Dean Tim Rehner joined the diversity committee in order to welcome new students to the committee as well as help those who want to get involved more on campus. Through a wide variety of events planned throughout the year, the committee hopes to make the campus a place where all students can get involved and feel welcome.
Monday was the kick-off of the school year with the dean's convocation. It's the first major on-campus event with a concert, games, and food. The Lima campus offers thirteen four-year degrees onsite and more than 200 majors that can be completed at the main campus in Columbus. Student life advisors are encouraging the incoming freshmen to engage, learn and thrive as they are now Buckeyes.
After a couple of weeks of settling into his new position, the new dean of Ohio State's Lima campus took some time to meet people from the community. Business and community leaders were invited to join the OSU family in officially welcoming Dr. Tim Rehner to Lima. Although he has only been here a short time, he's already made an effort to continue building a relationship between the campus and the people in Lima.
