Paul Downing with the Lima Salvation Army is in with details about the need for the Toys for Tots campaign!
Thanks to your help, we had another successful Truckload of Toys this year. The Lima Salvation Army says that 630 toys and stocking stuffers were collected at the Allentown Road Walmart on Saturday. Besides the toys, we got a lot of cash donations to help purchase toys to help fill the wish lists of over 1,000 local kids this Christmas. We want to thank Kewpee for the coupons for us to pass out and the Marine Corps Reserves, along with the Lima Noon Optimist, for helping collect the toys.
We are so happy that so many people show up on Saturday to drop of toys to help the Lima Salvation Army fill some wish list of some local kids this Christmas.
Christmas is creeping up on us, and the local "Toys for Tots" campaign is feeling the pinch. The tables are a little bare at the Lima Salvation Army as they are starting to sort through the requests they have this year for assistance. They have 452 families signed up, which will have more than a thousand kids hoping for something under the tree this Christmas. Tomorrow, December 7th, is a great chance for people to help catch them up on gifts with the Your Hometown Stations' "Truckload of Toys."
You have around 3 weeks left to help a child have a better Christmas this year with a new toy. The Lima Salvation Army's "Toys for Tots" campaign will be collecting toys until December 14th. There are around 200 boxes out at various businesses in the area for donations of a new unwrapped toy. While they are looking for toys and stocking stuffers for any age of kids, there is one age group that could need some more donations.
We want to thank everyone that stopped by the Allentown Road Wal-Mart and donated to Truckload of Toys on Saturday. Because of your donations we collected hundreds of toys that are going to help the Salvation Army give some area kids a better Christmas.
We want to thank everyone that stopped by the Allentown Rd. Wal-mart and donated to Truckload of Toys. Because of your donations, we collected hundreds of toys that are going to help the Salvation Army give some area kids a better Christmas. But if you would like to still donate to the Toys for Tots campaign, the drop off boxes around the area will be picked up the week of December 12th. Last year, the Salvation Army gave presents to 1500 children and with every ones help we can make sure everyone has presents under the tree this year. So, thanks again to Wal-mart and Kewpee Hamburgers for the coupons to help make our day a success.

It’s once again time for the Toys for Tots campaign; a collaborative effort between the Salvation Army, the Marine Corps, and the Lima Noon Optimists. The 2021 Toys for Tots campaign officially kicked off at Wednesday's Optimist meeting, and soon, the collection boxes will be placed in buildings throughout the area.
