Their candlelight concerts will kick off the new year and will be held in two historic venues. This year, concertgoers will be treated to "Harp by Candlelight". The Lima Symphony is comprised of dozens of world-class musicians sharing their talents in Northwest Ohio. These concerts will showcase a fewer number of musicians with soloists performing some of classical music's best composures in the candle-filled venues.

Tonight at Lima City Council, the city administration introduced legislation to designate city owned parks and outdoor recreational venues as tobacco free venues. According to a Lima-Allen County Community Health assessment report, mortality rates for lung and bronchus cancers are higher in Lima than the United States and The Healthy People 2030 target as well as 56% of local youth being exposed to secondhand smoke.

The Ohio Theatre is inching closer to officially reopening as renovation efforts have entered the final stage. The Friends of the Ohio Theatre, a group spearheading restoration efforts, say that final touches will take place over the next month. Some in the group have been a part of the Ohio Theatre's history, such as Kevin Tisher, who has previously worked at the Ohio Theatre before it was shut down. Tisher says that he is looking forward to Lima residents both old and new to experiencing the venue again.

Speaking at the Chamber's “Real American Sunrise” event, he says it was the attraction of what Lima had to offer in the arts that attracted him to invest in the theatre. Places like ArtSpace, the Veterans Civic Center, and the symphony. He believes that this renewal of the downtown with so many social activity options will draw new industries and businesses to the area.
