LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It has become a tradition for the Lima Symphony Orchestra and it's coming up this weekend.
Their candlelight concerts will kick off the new year and will be held in two historic venues. This year, concertgoers will be treated to "Harp by Candlelight". The Lima Symphony is comprised of dozens of world-class musicians sharing their talents in Northwest Ohio. These concerts will showcase a fewer number of musicians with soloists performing some of classical music's best composures in the candle-filled venues.
"Well our candlelight concerts are some of our most special concerts of the year, I think because it's a really intimate setting. If you can just imagine a few musicians in a string orchestra surrounded by candles. This natural light sort of setting it's incredibly wonderful to experience the music in that way," said Maestro Andrew Crust, Lima Symphony Orchestra.
The concerts will be on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lima and Sunday at the Grand Opera House in St. Marys. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. You can purchase them online or by calling the symphony office. There will be tickets at the door for the Lima site and limited tickets on-site at the St. Marys venue.
