A Fort Wayne nonprofit is back in Lima this weekend to give away clothes to families in need.
Lima 6th Ward Councilman Derry Glenn has started collecting sign-ups for his annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway.
Volunteers will work with Head Start students, reading and engaging with children from birth to 5 years old. Volunteers may also assist teachers with classroom activities. All volunteers will complete a standard background check and training. Time commitments are flexible and can range from a few hours a week to several days, depending on the volunteer’s availability.
With kids out of school for the summer, two Lima-area organizations are working to ensure no child goes hungry during the break.
