LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A Fort Wayne nonprofit is back in Lima this weekend to give away clothes to families in need.

Pie’s Clothing Closet partnered with local sponsors last month to host a giveaway that served more than 200 families, and now they’re back for round two. The organization will be at Fresh-N-Faded on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, including coats, shoes, hats and gloves. President Joe Ayers said the success of the last event and growing community needs inspired them to return.

“It was awesome. I think we served about 200 to 225 families. And when I say families, I mean four and five bags each. With just talking with Andre, we just felt like we need to do a part two, so we can serve the families here in Lima, Ohio,” Ayers said.

Fresh-N-Faded owner Leandre Johnson said the barbershop is happy to provide space to help the community.

“For me, it’s important because we have the space to be able to help the community and guys like Mr. Ayers,” Johnson said.

Donations of gently used items are accepted at Fresh-N-Faded, 227 S. Main St. in Lima, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
