Several residents have reported receiving phone calls claiming they failed to appear for jury duty and that if they do not take immediate action, they will be arrested. According to Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia, these calls are fraudulent.

Tests are conducted every month on the first Wednesday. In the event of an actual emergency, the sirens are an indication that persons in the affected area should go indoors and tune to local news media for additional information and instructions on emergency actions to be taken.
The campaign brought increased law enforcement patrol to prepare for the holiday weekend. Operation Dry Water is a national boating under the influence campaign that strives to make sure that boaters take the necessary precautions when being out on the water. Over the holiday weekend, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources officers issued 37 citations and nearly 450 safety warnings.
Several power poles were downed on Route 116 between Spencerville and Elgin, in Van Wert County. Farther to the north, the leading edge of the storms flipping over a semi on Route 30 by mile marker two outside of Delphos. The driver wasn't hurt but it took a couple of hours to pull the fully loaded truck from the median. There were also reports of scattered power outages throughout the region.
