(LIMA, OH) — Lima Senior is back on the state stage and preparing for a tough test this weekend.
The 22-4 Spartans held an open practice as they gear up for their first state tournament appearance since 2016. They’ll face 25-1 Massillon Washington on Saturday at the Wright State Nutter Center in a first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Lima Senior’s path to state hasn’t come easy. The Spartans have faced some of the top competition in Ohio all season long, including a statement win over Winton Woods in last week’s regional final rematch.
Despite the challenge ahead, head coach Quincey Simpson says the approach remains simple—stick to what has worked.
That means relying on the Lima Senior brand of basketball, the same identity that’s carried the Spartans through a demanding schedule and back to the state tournament.
