LIMA — Lima Central Catholic announced Friday that Frank Kill will return to the program as the Thunderbirds’ girls basketball head coach.
Kill spent more than two decades with LCC’s basketball program, including 13 seasons as the boys head coach, compiling 219 wins and guiding teams to state championships in 2014 and 2016. He stepped down as the boys coach in April 2023 and had been away from the sidelines before today’s hiring.
The job opening was posted in early September. Kill inherits a girls squad that went 2-21 last season and will look to rebuild the Thunderbirds’ program using the experience that produced sustained success on the boys side.
School officials said Kill’s familiarity with the community and proven track record made him the lead candidate to restore competitiveness and culture within the girls program.
