JACKSON CENTER — Two winless teams met Friday night with a chance to reset their early-season fortunes, and Jackson Center made the most of the opportunity.
After missing their first shot of the game, the Tigers capitalized on a second-chance bucket from Carter Klopfenstein to jump ahead early. Upper Scioto Valley answered moments later when junior Caiden Lowery banked in a three-pointer to give the Rams their first lead.
Jackson Center swung the momentum back when senior Preston Serr converted a three-point play, part of his 16-point performance that helped the Tigers regain control. In the second quarter, USV struck again in transition as Hunter Damron knocked down an open look from deep, forcing a Jackson Center timeout with the game tied at 8.
The Tigers responded immediately out of the break. Anderson Fark connected from long range to put Jackson Center back in front, and the Tigers carried that surge the rest of the night.
Jackson Center pulled away in the second half and secured its first win of the season with a 47–25 victory at home over Upper Scioto Valley.
