LIMA (WLIO) — Lima Senior wasted no time taking control, erupting for nine runs in the first inning on its way to a 23-2 win over Toledo Rogers.
The Spartans jumped ahead early when Cooper Twining delivered a two-run single, scoring Josiah Phillips and Yahir Brito-Diaz to double the lead. Later in the inning, Jayden Miller reached on a dribbler that brought home two more runs to make it 6-0.
Lima Senior kept the pressure on as Emmanuel Jokinen-Rutz added a sacrifice fly to score Riley Miller, part of a five-RBI, three-hit performance for the junior.
On the mound, Twining also dominated, striking out eight while allowing just one earned run over five innings.
The Spartans secured the win in five innings, picking up their second victory of the season.
