LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Two state-ranked programs met at Lima Gymnasium as Division III No. 20 Shawnee faced off against Division II No. 5 Lima Senior in an all-Lima boys basketball showdown.
Lima Senior entered the night with an 11-1 record and quickly took control. Sophomore Jeff Williams knocked down a three-pointer during an early run, and moments later Willie Foster ignited the crowd with a one-handed dunk off a steal as the Spartans built a 28-12 lead in the first quarter.

The Indians continued to battle as Trevick Bertke poured in 20 points on the night. Beckett Bertke also finished with 20 to lead the Shawnee scoring effort.
Lima Senior answered every run. Willie Foster intercepted a pass and finished with a windmill dunk on his way to a game-high 27 points. The senior also eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career. Shawn Foster added 15 points to help seal the win.
Lima Senior pulled away late to secure an 84-60 victory, extending its lead in the all-time series over Shawnee.
