LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Two weeks into the high school boys basketball season, the action is already heating up across West Central Ohio. And this week’s K&M Contracting Play of the Week comes from Shawnee’s non-conference matchup against Crestview.
In the second half, the Indians were firmly in control when junior guard Trevick Bertke set up the highlight of the night. He found his older brother, Beckett Bertke, cutting to the basket, and the Findlay commit did the rest — rising up and throwing down a powerful one-handed slam.
The reigning WBL Player of the Year made it look effortless, helping Shawnee cruise to a 72–46 win and improve to 2–1 on the season.
Beckett and the Indians return to the floor Friday as they host Kenton in their WBL opener. Congratulations to Beckett Bertke on earning this week’s Play of the Week honor.
