DELPHOS (WLIO) — Delphos St. John's is making final preparations for Friday's Division 7 state semifinal matchup against Tiffin Calvert.
The Blue Jays enter the Final Four with a 19-7 record after a dominant postseason run that has seen them outscore opponents 60-4. St. John's earned its first state tournament berth since 2011 and just the second in program history.
The Blue Jays shared the field with fellow state qualifier St. Henry for a joint practice on Monday as both Midwest Athletic Conference programs prepare for the final weekend of the season.
St. John's will face 27-2 Tiffin Calvert at 10 a.m. Friday in Canton. Head coach Jerry Jackson said his team is embracing the opportunity and is focused on playing its brand of baseball on the state's biggest stage.
