It's that time of year when some unsung local heroes get recognized for the hard work they do to better our community.
The Jefferson Awards honors those men and women who go above and beyond to give back. This year's awards committee went through 32 nominees and selected 12 winners for this year's awards, 8 of the winners are adults. New this year, 4 youth will be receiving a Jefferson Award.
At a ceremony on March 26th, one of the 12 winners will be announced as our representative to attend the National Jefferson Awards in Washington D.C. You'll be learning more about these winners in the weeks to come, as we highlight their contributions to the community.
Adult winners: Candace Newland, Sara Feldner, Mike Melvin, Dr. Derry Glenn, Kathy Gasser, Philip Compton, Cheryl Nagy, and Joe and Jenny Earl.
Youth winners: Emily Vandemark, Lauren Cunningham, Emily Dienstberger, Rebecca Dominguez.
