ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - An 18-year-old from Lima has been indicted for the February murder of a 14-year-old girl.
18-year-old Malik Dennis has been charged with murder, felonious assault, improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, and tampering with evidence by an Allen County grand jury.
On February 13, 2024, Lauralye Sterling was found dead with a single gunshot wound in a second-story room at a home on Greenlawn Avenue.
Dennis was arrested two days later, and after talking to Lima detectives, he allegedly admitted to shooting Sterling. It was testified during a court hearing that Dennis climbed an antenna on the outside of the home and fired one shot through a window, hitting Sterling. He is being held on a two-million-dollar bond.
