2/16/24 Update - Law enforcement released information Thursday morning that the victim is Lauralye Sterling.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Police released more information about the homicide that occurred early Tuesday morning in Lima, including the age of the victim and a suspect who is now in custody.
Lima police tell Your News Now they have arrested 18-year-old Malik Dennis of Lima. He is being held in the Allen County Jail on suspicion of murder. A murder charge could be filed against Dennis as early as Friday morning. Police say the victim, a 14-year-old female, was shot to death. Her name is not being released at this time per Marsy's law which protects victims’ rights. The shooting occurred at 778 Greenlawn Ave. Police say Dennis and the victim were acquaintances that lived near one another.
