Two teens were injured in a single-vehicle crash late Friday night in Shelby County, east of Anna.
Deputies say at least two teens were inside a white Jeep that was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Meranda Road when the vehicle left the roadway, shearing off a utility pole. The vehicle continued to travel through a farm field for at least 100 yards before coming to rest.
CareFlight flew one of the teens to a Dayton hospital. The other teen was taken by ambulance to Wilson Health in Sidney. The accident also caused a power outage that impacted over 600 Pioneer Electric customers. Fire and EMS crews from Jackson Center and Anna responded to the scene, as well as deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, who are handling the investigation.
